South of France Driving Holiday

In Western Europe we have the country of France, linked to the UK via the Channel Tunnel, hopping on the Eurostar is a quick way to get there. As one of the founding members of the European Union and 82 million tourists visiting every year, it is the most visited country in the world. If you do choose to explore France, here is a taster of some of the things you can see. We're going on a Fly-Drive to the South of France and exploring a few of the cities Amazon.de.

Carcassonne: We start our journey in the land of Carcassonne. Take your rental car from the airport and go directly to the city. Probably one of the most beautiful cities of France, Carcassonne is only an hour from Toulouse and is definitely a must for any traveler to stop and history lovers. This beautiful fully fortified French city has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List View 1997th day or night, both are so fascinating! The Fortressconsists of 53 towers and a double ring of walls. I am very likely that one day enjoy exploring the city to spend.

Narbonne: Drive over forty, which is located five minutes from Narbonne, 60.3 kilometers (37.4 miles), this port town, but now is further away from the Mediterranean and the change in the course of the Aude. Stop and visit Narbonne Cathedral, built in 1272, the return on the towers, the beach and enjoy a relaxing day in the sunor head into the city centre and explore the remains of the Via Domitia, the first Roman road built in Gaul.

Agde: The small town of Agde is 51.5km (32miles) away, taking 45 minutes from Narbonne. It used to be a Greek colony in the 55th century. Most of the building here are built from Black Basalt which gives the town a very unique architecture. Enjoy this quirky town and have a coffee by the Fountain of the Republic in the town centre or walk around the old Amphitrite statue, The Sea Goddess by the river.

Montpellier: Our last stop is Montpellier, an hour's drive away 61.6km (38.3miles). This lively city has some great attractions, the main being the Place de Comedie with sights such as the fountain that was moved here after a fire called Three Graces and the Oprea Comedie building. There is also a small park where you can enjoy some quiet time and reflect on your holiday. A must see attraction is the oldest botanical garden in France, founded in 1593, the Jardin des plantes de Montpellier, 4.5 hectares of free roaming gardens of all kinds of plants and trees. Then sadly, take yourself to Montpellier Airport, drop your car rental off, wipe the tears and fly home.

A great tip on the way is to send yourself and your family a postcard reminding yourself of the great things you have seen, so you have a wonderful memory from each place you have visited. You can cover a lot in a Fly-Drive by picking up a car hire in France at different locations, but you also must remember to plan ahead, plan your stops and overnight stays as well as account for food to make this one hell of a great trip!

The Best Theme Parks For a Family Holiday in France

So, you're taking a family holiday in France, but have no idea where to take the kids? You can't go wrong with theme parks, and thankfully France has got a fair few of them. Here's the pick of the biggest ones, guaranteed to keep the kids quiet (or screaming loudly depending on the ride!) on your family holiday in France.

Any of these makes for a great excursion for all ages - just make sure you leave your hotel in France early, as they get busy quite quickly!

Puy du Fou

Puy du Fou is a bit of a curveball to begin the list - it has no slides, roller coasters or mini trains. Instead you get elaborate shows charting the history of the area, stunning scenery and a fun, educational day out. If the word "educational" is likely to make your kids run for the hills, perhaps you should sell them on the main event: a huge outdoor stage behind the castle-ruins recalls 700 years of the local history on the world's largest stage with thousands of actors, hundreds of horses and around 400 fireworks per performance! Understandably this is quite costly, so is only on in high season - check it's on in advance, but if it is don't hesitate in making this a central part of your family holiday in France.

Parc Asterix

Parc Asterix is a theme park based around the comic book (and subsequent film) adventures of Asterix the Gaul. Despite the licensing deal limiting its scope, it's actually an excellent theme park and a great alternative to Disneyland Paris (which is just 20 miles away). It has a wide range of rollercoasters, themed around characters and places from the books (the log flume takes the form of 'Menhir Express', for example.) Not only is it a great choice for fans of the comic books, but a terrific theme park in its own right for those who love big rollercoasters and thrills while in France. A hotel is on site for those who think they'll spend more than a day there - easily done considering the park's size!

Futuroscope

One of the most famous theme parks in France, and once again breaking the traditional grounds of rollercoasters and waterslides, Futuroscope is a theme park worked entirely around film. With many 3d cinemas and other attractions and shows (some of which are the only examples in the world), the park is an excellent choice for those looking to holiday further south of Paris. Although the films are in French, headsets with translations are available, but to be honest it's more about the experience than the dialogue. The real pick of the attractions is the motion sensitive chairs, which react to the action on screen - just as thrilling as your average rollercoaster!

Disneyland Paris

The Disneyland Park needs no introduction. With an impressive array of rides and all your kids' favourite Disney franchises represented, it's no wonder it's such a popular part of family holidays in France. The pick of the rides has to be Space Mountain - not for the weak of heart, with double corkscrews and 360 degree loop-the-loops in near darkness really testing your mettle! With shows, rides and an incomparable atmosphere, Disneyland is deservedly one of the most famous attractions in France. A hotel is on site, too so you can be within easy reach if you're planning multiple visits.

You're not short of reasons to leave your hotel in France, but there are few attractions as effective as theme parks at keeping the kids happy! Bon voyage!

Technically, the house which the owner mustI live close by to offer help, support and a warm welcome to guests, while when you notice as a French holiday cottage, this usually means that it is German or not owned by someone who is not living in France - such as English, even American-owned.

Gites are generally old farm workers cottages or converted barns and outbuildings near the owner's primary residence. This type of accommodation is sometimes regarded as the "basis" for theServices and the first we've ever met were extremely basic. had, in fact, in this small village, which had only a church, a shop, a restaurant and a bar all these so-called Gites as wooden huts with beds, toilet and sink, which were in the rear garden area behind the bar local restaurant!

But most Gites these days are generally very well kept and a growing number of them are excellent facilities as fully equipped kitchens, bathroom, TV, DVD and even access to a swimming pool and many other sports that the whole family can enjoy. Exactly what you need when on holiday with his family.

Gites in France are also encouraged by the local Tourist board Holidays and planning, such as tourism and in this, and all owners have the necessary investments to ensure they are safe and comply with required standards, regulations and requirements of their insurance time, damagethe party of peace maker.

It is the Gites de France, which they valued, which means the renovation, the quality has increased and we are better equipped and comfortable compared to how they use the plus Have foreign investors bought a lot, the property in France the standard is raised even higher and you will not have many Gites anyone near these fundamental questions, such as those that have already been cited in which to be honest, we did not encounter that, not least a kitchen, living room and bathroom, so you need not panic too much when booking!

You will also find a number of classes of housing, are classified according Gîtes de France and will help in hand, these are some, as follows:

Known as a rural, this property offers holiday homes and are found in nature, the sea or mountain, are completely independent, with one or more bedrooms, aLounge, sometimes a dining room, kitchen and bathroom, and it is these particular types of trips, which are in default over the years to come.

Then you Gites d'Enfants, and is specific for children during school holidays, providing family accommodation for children of different ages with a variety of activities. The big advantage is that these children Gites very well regulated and monitored to ensure safety andEnvironment for each child.

The staging and departures for holidays, Accommodation stage as noted, are usually well off the beaten track and are mainly for groups of walkers or cyclists, and better than this type of accommodation is most likely a hostel are fundamental.

As you can see now, perhaps, may leave the reasons range from very simple Gites converted barns to part of a large castle in France are private and the whole body,Village, the center of town in the mountains or near the beaches, the choice of accommodation is endless.

And select as many different homes, is a good idea, the family and make a checklist of types of services you deem necessary for you, after all, like us, you may want to separate rooms, so you have your own space rather crowded into a large bedroom. Even underFun at hand can be great for children, especially if you have bad weather for a day done, you can check what is available before booking.

Of course, depending on your budget, you may also feel that villa with pool and outside dining area, one in France, the best option for a relaxing holiday, but remember that some of them are so located in the sticks, Sun position is also something must be considered.

Never mindwhat you choose, France is a huge country, and one can be perfect for you and your family house, but the motto we have learned is prepared and the first organization in order to enjoy your vacation and to enjoy all trains.
